Whale and Dolphin Watching
Did you know? San Diego is one of the only places in the U.S. where you can discover ocean wildlife year-round.
- From December through April, you can observe part of the amazing 10,000-mile annual migration of the Pacific gray whale from Alaska to Mexico. It’s possible to see both north and sound bound migration until April, with sightings as close as 1/2 mile from our bay!
- From June to December, off the coast of Southern California, sightings of Eastern Pacific blue whales are made seasonally from June to December. Experience the wonder of one of the largest animals to ever live on earth.
- During summer months, as coastal waters warm up, blue whales can be spotted off the shore of San Diego.
- Year-round, fin whales, humpback whales and pods of Dolphins are spotted regularly on our sailing adventures.
